Today I woke up early- which are something that I don’t do since I got here. Ralph woke us all at noon when the sun had just started to be seen in the horizon. He blew the conch and stared a meeting. Next to him was Samneric. Eric had striped scars in his face. The claim that they saw the beast in the mountain and that it was furry and scary. Eric was scratched by the beast that was following him. This time Ralph didn’t try to explain that the beast doesn’t exist, this time even he was scared. So was I. Now I can see that it is possible that there is a beast because this time a bigun was the one that saw it. In addition Eric had marks in his face that showed that he was attacked by a beast with claws. I went back to my senses and said that I and my hunters will kill it. A beast is nothing for me, also I will show my superiority when I come back to the platform with the head of the beast in my hands. Ralph said that with the weapons we had we didn’t stand a chance. I asked him if he was scared and he confessed that he is frightened and that everyone is. We decided that we are going to explore the island and hunt the beast for once and for all. Ralph Left Piggy in charge if the littluns as the biguns went in the expedition. Piggy started to complain that there is no one to protect the littluns if we all leave. I interrupted and he said that he has the conch. I was angry and told him what I thought. I feel that the conch is not needed. Why do people that are not important have the right of voting? I said that only some people are to have the right to a vote and because when others talk they do no good. Ralph asked me if there is somewhere that I still haven’t gone in the entire island. I answered and we decided that we will look for the beast there and then go to the mountain, see if the beast is there, and light the fire.
We walked to the place where I have never been before. The place can a bridge made by stones. I had only seen that place at a distance when I hunted. When we go very close I told Ralph that we are in sight and that we need to be careful. We were all hiding behind tall grasses- were no beast could see us. Ralph said that he was going to go first because he is the chief and not to argue with him. I say him as he got out of the grasses and in to the area. I followed him without him knowing, I will not let him take my job. The place was only rocks and no beast lived there. He walked to the tall grasses and told the boys that it was all right and that there is no beast here. The place has a half cave surrounded by rocks. I was excited; this could be an excellent fort. In this spot no one will be able to conquer us. I could take control of the tribe now if I wanted to or get the hunters to do a tribe here. If someone got close I could roll stones down and smash them. It was a place of advantage. I told Ralph about how good is this place and how it can be an excellent fort. He kept saying that it was a rotten place and that he will never move the group from the platform to this spot. The other boys studied the possibilities of that place as a fort. Ralph said that we have to go to the top of the mountain to turn on the signal fire because a ship may pass by and not notice us. I and the other boys wanted to stay in this place but Ralph obligated us to go to the mountain. At the end Ralph told me to lead the group to the mountain. For one of the first times Ralph did a smart decision. Since the start I should have led the group.
